Creative Minds Learning Centers was founded in 1997 with the children's
interests and parent's needs in mind due to an overwhelming demand for high quality child care programs
offering media free and healthy environments.
Creative Minds currently operates five child development centers in the
Portland metropolitan area. Please read our About Us page to learn more

 Creative Minds Learning
Centers have been designed to encourage children to explore their
interests in a creative and artistic setting. Certified with the State
of Oregon and members of NAEYC, OAEYC, Oregon Environmental Council and
other Early Childhood organizations, CMLC schools provides a
progressive and positive
environment for children, staff and families. Creative Minds has also
been selected as
one of 25 Oregon Program of Quality schools and continues to be a
leader in the Early Childhood Education field.
Our philosophy is to enrich children's lives with creative arts and
accredited educational materials while developing self esteem,
confidence and a sense of independence.
While there are many approaches and "labels" for teaching young
children, Creative Minds schools focuses on
the basis of early childhood development being "trichotomized" into a
trio of goals: (1) social/emotional development and (2) intellectual
development and (3) the acquisition of meaningful and useful academic
skills. Children are capable and willing to learn and naturally can
begin to
read at Pre-Kindergarten grade. It is our duty to guide the
children during the day in a structured setting. The children depend on
the
security of a daily routine and come to school excited to see their
friends and teachers.
Our schedule incorporates a program where children can freely play and
be independent while learning in their garden, whip up delicious
cooking
projects, create Reggio inspired art, music, dance, yoga, dressing up,
imagination
time, sensory skills and many other activities while
teaching them an accredited High Reach and Star Fall Curriculum.
Creative Minds Learning Centers are schools dedicated to providing
the best learning environment for the social, emotional and academic
development of all children. Each child's individual abilities
interests are given free expression so that education is a natural
development of their life.
Most of our teachers have Bachelor's or Master's degrees and
receive more education and early childhood
training than State requirements. Our teachers must hold a
CPR, First Aid and Food Handler's card as well as receive at least 20
clock hours of continuing Early Childhood Education classes and
successfully complete a
background check. .
Our daily schedule offers flexible programs for our
working families. You may enroll your child in one of the following
programs we offer, which includes: Infant- Private Kindergarten. Our
schedule
features a morning and afternoon Art Program, weekly Cooking Classes,
Gardening and Science, Music, Dance (Creative Outlets 4Kids), Yoga,
Foreign Language Classes (Sign Language and Spanish), and much more. We
provide healthy meals and snacks and organic dairy prepared fresh in
our kitchens. Our facilities are smaller to offer more one on one with
children in beautiful classroom settings. Outside time is spent in our
garden areas or playing parachute games in the sunshine in a fenced,
secure play area.
