Creative Minds Learning Center, Inc. an Oregon based company, was founded in 1997 with the children's interests and parent's needs in mind.

Our philosophy is to enrich children's lives with creative arts and accredited educational materials while developing self esteem, confidence and a sense of independence. We believe strongly in a program which exposes children to a creative way of learning while experiencing arts, music and dance in an educational and visual environment.We are interest based schools, which means we like to discover each child's interest in arts, music, dance, science, etc., and offer these activities in a supervised setting.

There are many approaches and "labels" for teaching young children. Some believe that children should not begin to learn to read until the second or third grade. Others argue that children should decide what to learn and do during the day. We base our teaching style on the basis of early childhood development so we "trichotomize" the early childhood curriculum so that it is focused on at least a trio of goals:  (1)  social/emotional development and (2)  intellectual development and (3)  the acquisition of meaningful and useful academic skills. We believe children are capable and willing to learn and naturally can begin to read at Pre-Kindergarten grade. We believe it is our duty to guide the children during the day in a structured setting. The children need the security of a daily routine and come to school excited to see their friends and teachers. We give each child the tools to succeed so when they enter a more formal education later in life they have the skills needed to become whatever they want to be in life, an artist, doctor, teacher...

We balance our teaching with a beautiful program where they can be children, learning in their garden, creating cooking projects, creating visual arts, music, dance and yoga classes, dressing up and imagination time, experiencing sensory skills and many more activities while teaching them an accredited Preschool and Kindergarten program (High Reach and Star Fall Curriculum). Creative Minds Learning Centers are pre-schools dedicated to providing the best learning environment for the social, emotional and academic development of all children. Each child's individual abilities interests are given free expression so that education is a natural development of their life.

Creative Minds Learning Centers have been designed to encourage children to explore their interests in a creative and artistic setting. Certified with the State of Oregon and members of NAEYC, OAEYC, Oregon Environmental Council and other organizations, our schools provide the best environment for children, staff and families.

Our teachers are certified and receive more education and child related training than the State requires. We require all of our teachers hold a CPR, First Aid and Food Handler's card as well as receive at least 20 clock hours of Early Childhood Education classes and pass a criminal background check.

We are open: Monday- Friday from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm

Our daily schedule is structured and offers flexible programs for our working families. You may enroll your child in one of the following programs we offer, which includes: Infant, Junior Toddler, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and Private Kindergarten. Our schedule features a morning and afternoon Art Program, weekly Cooking Classes, Gardening and Science, Music, Dance (Kinderdance), Yoga, Foreign Language Classes (Sign Language and Spanish), and much more. We provide healthy meals and snacks and organic dairy prepared fresh in our kitchens. Our facilities are smaller to offer more one on one with children in beautiful classroom settings. Outside time is spent in our garden areas or playing parachute games in the sunshine in a fenced, secure play area.

Our brand new Westmoreland School opened on 1/4/10 and is located at 6109 SE Milwaukie in Westmoreland, our Broadway School opened in 2008 and is located off 82nd Avenue at 8340 NE Broadway, our Woodstock School opened in 2005 and is located across from Brentwood Park at 7103 SE 60th Avenue and our Gateway School opened in 2001 and is located between Stark and Burnside at 334 SE 146th Avenue.
