The Creative Curriculum: teachingstrategies.com/curriculum/
Our infant program is exclusively featured at our West Moreland, Sellwood, and Happy Valley Schools and has been designed to stimulate and nurture your baby. Studies show that between the ages of 3 to 12 months children are in the most formative years of their lives.
We have limited the spaces in this class to only 8 infants. With a smaller group size in this class than other programs, our highly qualified infant Teachers and their assistant will give your baby more one on one time.
Our space has been designed to allow natural light into the room and manipulatives to stimulate your child with color and sensory integration. Soft music, featuring the Baby Einstein music program and lighting and murals are visual delights to your baby as they spend their day being nurtured and played with.
When Creative Minds offered Infant Programs, research was done to ensure the very best learning environment for babies. One important and surprising discovery was the risks of cribs for infants. Due to the statistics of crib injuries and deaths, Creative Minds worked successfully with the State of Oregon to implement infant sleeping coves rather than cribs. This has been successful in the classroom and keeps the floor space open for the needs of the babies and helps their gross motor development skills and floor time for crawling and movement.
These schools also feature a community room for relaxing, nursing or borrowing a book from our lending library. Our teachers record all feedings and diaper changes on a communication form for our families. We have a laundry area with washer and dryer on site for soiled clothes and cloth diapers. Our commercial kitchen is on site for preparation of organic meals for when your baby is ready to explore solid foods. We also have a refrigerator and bottle warmer in our Infant Room to offer more convenience for our families and teachers.
