Meet Our Creative Minds Team

Teachers make a difference to our program. Our teachers offer their own unique creative touches to their classrooms and our environments. They help plan the art program, have a generous budget for educational and art supplies and are committed to keeping our program innovative. They are all certified with the State of Oregon, and hold a degree in Early Childhood Education and/or have years of experience working with children, have passed a criminal background check and are required to hold a Love and Logic Certification, Food Handler's, First Aid and CPR cards at our company. We require a professional dress code with a uniform so you can easily identify a member of our staff at any time. We provide our teachers with competitive wages and benefits and offer growth opportunities for a long term career with CMLC! We love our teachers!

Every Quarter we like to feature Teachers & their Classrooms, from each of the schools. Click "Featured" links below to view their stories.

Brittany quickly showed her strengths as a leader and was promoted to the Regional Director. Brittany has grown in her career with CMLC and is now the Chief Executive Officer for Creative Minds. She maintains support to each school's Site Director, Area Directors, teachers, children and families, ensuring a quality consistent program. Brittany is proud to work for CMLC because of its reputable academic program, collaborative work environment, and commitment to families. Brittany's teaching philosophy is to build personal relationships with each child and encourage independence in their learning. "I love coming to work! This community is so special to me, as if it were my second family!" Brittany has a passion for the development of children, education, and community relationships.

Area Director

Kayla is the Area Director for our schools. She has been a part of the CMLC team since June 2009, after graduating with her BA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Kayla chose to join the CMLC family for several reasons, some of which include: the positive and fun environment, the Reggio art program, daily enrichment classes, and the healthy menu options. Creative Minds also aligns with Kayla's philosophy that children learn best when provided with many hands on experiences and opportunities to explore through all of their senses. Kayla enjoys how honest children are. "It's the simple things that amaze them. They are always saying silly things, and I love watching them grasp new concepts. It's amazing the growth that you see in such a short amount of time," she explains. Kayla is looking forward to many more years with Creative Minds, creating lasting relationships and helping to provide the best possible atmosphere for young children to grow and develop!

I joined the CMLC team in February, 2017, and first started working with children in high school when I babysat and nannied. I really liked working with babies, because that's where most of my experience was from nannying. I was given the opportunity to spend more time with the toddlers here, and I have loved that age group ever since!  I grew up in Portland with two brothers, and I have a dog named Riley that I like to take to the dog park and visit other doggie friends! I like to read or write in my free time and hang out with my roommates and my CMLC friends!

Woodstock School Teachers

Woodstock Jr. Toddler Teacher

My name is Estera I was born and raised in a family of ten sisters and three brothers. Growing up in a large family I have learned to respect, love and care for others. When I was younger I remember how much I loved playing teacher with my siblings. I knew from a young age that I wanted to become a preschool teacher. My dream became a reality when I went to high school. There I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Reynolds Preschool. I was dedicated and motivated to learn about children and their development. So I decided to volunteer at that preschool for 2 and a half years. Once I finally graduated high school with a major in Early Childhood Education. I was off to college to gain even more knowledge. I started to volunteer in Head Start at Mt. Hood Community College. In 2013 I graduated from Mt. Hood with an Associates of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education. On September 13th, 2013 I was hired at Creative Minds Learning Center. It's such a blessing to be here and work with our Woodstock families. I've enjoyed every minute of it. I thank you! Teaching is a passion of mine, I don't see myself doing anything else. I believe that every teacher needs to be nurturing, respectful and a life long learner. These are all characteristics that I acquire and will continue to put into action.

CMLC School Maintenance Team

Maintenance Team

Hi! My name is Cody. I am a maintenance tech for Creative Minds Learning Centers.  I started working with CMLC in July of 2015, and love this job more than anywhere I have worked before. I really enjoy the atmosphere it has to offer, and interacting with the families and teachers alike is always pleasant. I also have a good grasp of my job having worked at home depot before and I am still learning new things each day. In my free time, I enjoy video games, tennis, karaoke, my cats and hanging out with my friends. I hope to see some of you around and make the school a safer and nicer place for everyone.

Maintenance Tech

Hello! I’m Johnny, and have been on the CMLC Maintenance Team since August, 2016! I knew the other maintenance techs from working at Home Depot, where I also learned a ton about maintenance, upkeep, and building from the contractors. I have taken that knowledge and what I have learned from my father and applied it to all of the schools! Most fixes are pretty intuitive to me, and I really enjoy solving problems and figuring out puzzles. I have always enjoyed working with my hands, so I feel pretty lucky to be able to help fix things and see the CMLC teachers, kiddos, and families each day!  I was born and raised in Portland, and I like to play video games and build models in my free time.

We want to thank all of our teachers and aides who are committed to the development of our schools and encouragement to the children. We hand pick the very best people to make a team which delivers the company's philosophy of "listening to childrens hearts with understanding and a true commitment to an artistic, organic and healthy setting". Each teacher puts together a biography, giving you a peek at who they are which is displayed throughout the centers.

If you are interested in becoming a part of Creative Minds Learning Center's team, either by joining our Parent's Organization Board or applying to be a teacher or aide, please visit the Contact Us page and email us your information.
