Motor Skill Development

Our infant program was designed to stimulate and nurture your baby and our teachers work with each child to help them reach important early milestones. Our Infant program utilizes “on demand” scheduling, which means we allow the infant to let us know when they are hungry or sleepy. Our Infant classrooms were designed to allow natural light into the room and each room features manipulatives that stimulate your child with color and sensory integration. Soft music, lighting, and custom murals create a warm, nurturing environment where your baby will grow and thrive.

We have limited the spaces in our Infant program to 8 infants. With a smaller group size, our highly qualified Infant Teachers and their assistants can give your baby more one-on-one time.

Parent Communication

We provide you with a communication sheet every day that outlines your child’s feedings and diaper schedule for that day. We ask that you fill out the first half of this sheet in the morning to let us know how your child’s night and morning were and we fill out the rest throughout the day. Good communication is key for all of us and especially to ensure that your child has a happy and healthy day.

Facilities for Infants

Our schools also feature a community room for relaxing, nursing, or borrowing a book from our lending library. We have a laundry area with washer and dryer on site for soiled clothes and cloth diapers. Our commercial kitchen is on site for preparation of organic meals for when your baby is ready to explore solid foods. We also have a refrigerator and bottle warmer in our Infant Room to offer more convenience for our families and teachers.

When Creative Minds began offering our Infant Program, research was done to ensure the very best learning environment for babies. One important and surprising discovery was the risks of cribs for infants. Due to the statistics of crib injuries and deaths, Creative Minds worked successfully with the State of Oregon to implement infant sleeping coves rather than cribs. This has been successful in the classroom and keeps the floor space open for the needs of the babies and helps their gross motor development skills and floor time for crawling and movement.
