Potty Training

Our Junior Toddler program stimulates and engages children between the ages of 12-24 months and is offered at our Brentwood, Broadway, Clackamas, Milwaukie, and Sellwood locations.

With small group sizes, your child will get the one-on-one social interactions every child craves. Our certified Teachers and their assistants will give your child all the encouragement they need to crawl, walk, and use their sensory skills. Our Toddler Teachers record all feedings and diaper changes on a communication form for our families.

The Junior Toddler Classroom Environment

Our Junior Toddler program makes floor time safe and comfortable with soft carpets and marshmallow climbers. The window design in our classrooms allows natural light to softly illuminate the room and we feature Baby Einstein music during play time and sleep time because we believe music is a language universal to children.

Potty Training

We begin potty training in our Junior Toddler classroom when your child shows interest in using the restroom. Our teachers provide gentle guidance during potty training and do not put pressure on the child to use the toilet. Potty training can only be learned when a child’s neuromuscular system has developed enough to control his or her bladder and bowels. We consider a child to be potty trained when they recognize a trip to the restroom is needed without adult help, when they don’t wear pull-ups or other specialty garments to aid in their training, and the child has less than two accidents per month. Children must be completely potty trained before entering our preschool program.
