Potty Training

Our Toddler Program is for children ages 24 months to 3 years of age and is both structured and hands-on in nature because children are quickly developing both gross and fine motor skills at this age. Your toddler will participate in the following activities at Creative Minds Learning Center:

  • Art
  • Sign Language
  • Sensory Experiences
  • Dramatic Play
  • Cooking Classes
  • Live Science
  • Gross & Fine Motor Games
  • Social Skills

Parent Communication

When you enroll your toddler at one of our schools, you’ll receive a Parent Handbook that outlines what we need from you to make your toddler’s experience at Creative Minds a positive and healthy one. Your child’s teachers will provide you a Daily Parent Communication Report which provides daily feedback on your toddler’s day, specifically their eating, sleeping, and bathroom schedule. We believe communication is an important part of your child’s success. Our teachers are always available for discussions and we have a parent conference each April.

Potty Training

Children must be completely potty trained before entering our Preschool Program, so potty training is an important part of our Toddler Program. We follow the child’s lead when it comes to potty training and consider the beginning of potty training to be when the child shows interest in using the restroom. Our teachers guide and encourage during potty training, but do not put pressure on the child. We consider children to be potty trained once they experience less than two incidents of soiling themselves per month, they don’t wear pull-ups or specialty garments to aid in their training, and they don’t need an adult to remind or assist them in a successful bathroom trip.
