My career in early childhood education started off at Portland Parks and Recreation as a Swim Instructor when I was 15 years old. I quickly worked my way up to a Lead Swim Instructor and ran the Swim Lesson Program for Mt. Scott. After working there I realized I wanted to jump into teaching with no better way to start than at a Preschool. I started in the Preschool classroom and shortly after worked my way to the Floater Teacher and than the Assistant Director. I have been working in early childhood education for over 8 years now but working with children for almost 15 years. Watching a child work so hard to achieve a certain goal, and than seeing their face when they finally achieve that goal, makes what I do worth every minute. I love teaching children to be a good, positive part in our society.

I am a mom of two beautiful little girls: Crislynn and Madalynn, and wife to a very hard working and loving husband, Steven. I am currently going to school to finish my degree in Early Childhood Education. I started here at Creative Minds Broadway in January 2019. I am so excited to see what the future has in store!

My passion has always been to work with children, to teach them ,and help them grow. When I was around 11, my mother started having me volunteer at her in-home daycare. It was during that time that I knew working with children was something I could easily do for the rest of my life. I would lead activities, help with tutoring, answer phone calls, prepare snacks, and often times, I’d even be the janitor!

Since that time, I’ve worked with children in many different arenas. During high school, I worked as an after school tutor and a weekend babysitter. From the ages of 19-20, I worked full-time at a summer camp & after school program and from 21-25, I worked with an International non-profit organization traveling the world, teaching English, music, art, and math to children in third-world countries.

I currently serve as the Assistant Director for the Broadway location of the CMLC schools. I started as the Lead Teacher for our 1’s classroom and was recently promoted to AD. I have truly enjoyed my time at CMLC and I hope to continue being a part of this great community!
