Private Kindergarten Program
Creative Minds Learning Centers is proud to offer an exceptional Private Kindergarten program at our Portland location. Our Kindergarten program is research-based, field-tested, and aligned with state standards. We limit our class sizes in kindergarten to 10 students so that your child can get plenty of one-on-one time with our teachers. We use the widely recognized Starfall Curriculum along with Every Counts Math to ensure our students are getting a well-rounded education.
Our Kindergarteners learn valuable social skills and build strong friendships thanks to our small class sizes. They also get involved in community programs such as recycling, composting, library outreach, and meeting community helpers.
Our Educational Philosophy
We take a balanced approach to early childhood education and have created a preschool and kindergarten environment where children find joy in learning. We are focused on the social, emotional, and intellectual development of each child in our care and we work towards the acquisition of meaningful and useful academic skills. We give each child the tools to succeed so that when they enter more formal educational systems later in life, they have the skills and confidence to thrive. Our preschool and childcare programs encourage positive relationships and the development of critical thinking skills, which evolve through experimentation, exploration, and play.
Communication between parents and school is a critical aspect of a successful early educational experience. We have a Parent Orientation prior to your child’s start date, parent conferences each April, and constantly provide feedback on your child’s development. We have an open door policy and encourage your involvement in our preschool community. Many parents stop by to read to the children, help in the garden, participate in school events, or join us on field trips.
